Should I get custom burglar bars for my property?

Installing burglar bars on the windows of your home or business property has unfortunately become a necessity because one of the main ways burglars get inside a property is through open and unguarded windows. There are a few things you can do to burglar proof your windows, but burglar bars remain the most popular and cost-efficient option. One of the big plusses is that they still allow you to use your windows for ventilation while preventing burglars from gaining entry. However, is it necessary to get custom burglar bars? Let’s assess.

Should I get custom burglar bars?

Now that we’ve established that burglar bars are a good idea, the next question is usually around which burglar bars to get. Here are a few of the usual suspects:

But is it necessary to get these custom made? A custom option could mean that the burglar bars are custom designed, custom manufactured or custom measured. Essentially, installing custom burglar bars is not a one-size-fits-all solution. There is a recognition that every client and property requires a unique solution. A custom route makes sense for two main reasons:

1. Aesthetics

Every building has been designed differently with different interior and exterior colours and finishes, so a custom option allows for the burglar bars to match the look and feel of the property. For example, when it comes to our static burglar bar barriers, clients can choose between three flight shapes (X, O or A) and four epoxy powder coated colours to ensure the burglar bars are aesthetically pleasing.

2. Security

Generic burglar bars are not the most secure option for your property. It is a much better investment to get burglar bars that have been custom made to specifically fit your property’s windows. This not only makes them more durable and secure, but also longer lasting.
